Living longer, but not better

Depressing story in the Wall Street Journal (subscription may be required).  Americans are living longer (78.2 years in 2010 from 75.2 in 1990), but we suffer from chronic illness, short- and long-term disability about 10 of those years.  And, we spend more on health care than any other country.

Yeah, we don’t do the things we should to maintain health – exercising and eating good diet with leafy greens.  But then we also have food manufacturers pumping too much sugar and salt and God knows what kinds of toxins into the processed food we love.  Land of the plenty, land of convenience.  Time to enter the land of health.
