Behind the Numbers: MedRisk Data Expert Leads “Data 101” Session at WCI

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (July 15, 2013) — MedRisk’s Director of Data Analytics Jenn Hermann will moderate an informative discussion for non-data professionals at WCI’s Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference. MedRisk is a leading managed care company specializing in the physical rehabilitation of injured workers.

Scheduled for Aug. 19, the session “Savings Isn’t Everything: What Is Your Data Really Telling You about Quality?” is designed to uncover important metrics to look for in claims data and determine how these numbers help control costs and utilization. Audience members will discover how various data points influence each other and tell a story about a claim. The discussion will also include details on managing data from a clinical perspective and learning how to effectively identify cost and quality drivers.

Joining Hermann on the panel are the following national experts in workers’ compensation data analytics: Jeffrey White, director of medical management practices and strategy for Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. and president and CEO of Great White Software, LLC; George Furlong, senior vice president of managed care program outcomes analysis for Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc.; and Jerry Poole, president and COO of Acrometis, which offers clients an automated claims processing platform.

WCI’s Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference will be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott from Aug. 18-21.  More information and registration details can be found at www.wci360.com.
